In 2004, ITV plc was formed as a result of a merger between Granada plc, the parent company of Granada Television, and Carlton Communications. This new establishment created a single company from all the pre-existing ITV franchises in Wales and England.

Known as the “five-year transformation plan”, a large-scale business reorganisation was launched in 2010. By 2012, the company had already achieved significant growth in audience share and received a ranking upgrade from BB- to BB+. Moreover, the firm reduced its debt from £730m ($963m, €815m) in net debt at the end of 2008 to £16m in net cash in Q1 2012.

In 2018, the business posted annual revenue of over £3.211bn. In 2019, the figure stood at £3.308bn.

Today, the company’s business activities are divided into two key segments: ITV Broadcast & Online, operating the TV networks like the ITV News Group; and ITV Studios, comprising both the UK and international production, Global Entertainment and ITV’s facilities businesses.

The company's stock has experienced multiple value fluctuations since February 2004 when it started trading on the LSE. Up until mid-2007, its performance was rather flat, with the price averaging 110 GBX per share. However, in August 2007, the ITV share price started to fall, eventually dropping below the 19 GBX mark in February 2009.

The stock gained an upside momentum in April 2009. During the following six years, the ITV stock price had been mainly in the uptrend, with shares soaring to hit an all-time high of 280.70 GBX in July 2015.

The strong upward trajectory ended in December 2015: with the exception of occasional, short-lived positive fluctuations, the value of ITV shares has been falling ever since. The stock started 2020 trading at 150.90 GBX per share, plunging to 54.42 GBX per share on April 3 amid the global economic uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. By June 8, the price had retraced some of its losses to sit at 90.86 GBX per share.

great app, love the weekly and monthly insights, and review they send about my trading habits. spread for gold is usually 0.3 but at times fluctuates up to 0.9 this often makes it hard trading on the low time frames and not losing my position to spread even if my bias was correct, if the spread was better I'd give 5 star.

chris hoeben

Capital.com is the best broker of all time and I Should give it five stars but there is a small issue about execution of my orders through traddingview it is a bit slow. But the execution of orders directly from the capital.com App or Website is absolutely fast and apart from that everything is simple incredible.
