SalMar, along with its subsidiaries, is organised into two business segments: Fish Farming and Sales & Processing. Its activities include broodfish and smolt production, as well as marine-phase farming, harvesting, processing, and sale of farmed salmon and white fish. The company sells its products to importers and exporters, processing companies, and retail chains through its in-house sales force and/or through partners. SalMar was founded in 1991. The company is based in Kverva, Norway. SalMar has been listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange under the ticker SALM since 2007.
