This is a stock index in the Philippines. It forms part of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) and includes almost all common stocks listed on the exchange.

If you follow world markets, you might have heard how it's one of eight indices making up the PSE. The main index is the PSE Composite Index (PSEi) and the All Shares Index is the broader index of the exchange.

The Philippine Stock Exchange was created in 1992 following the merger of the Manila Stock Exchange and the Makati Stock Exchange. As well as the PSEi and the All Shares Index, there are six other indices that make up the PSE, all sector indices based on a company's main source of revenue. The All Shares Index includes common stocks of the companies on the exchange, excluding those listed on its Small and Medium Enterprises Board. The All Shares index is calculated using the full market capitalisation method.
