Industrivarden is a Sweden-based holding company. It acts as an asset manager and an active owner m listed Nordic companies, including Handelsbanken, Sandvik, Volvo, Essity, Skanska, ICA Gruppen, Ericsson, SCA and SSAB, among others. Industrivarden was established by Handelsbanken, a major bank in Sweden. Following the 1930s stock market crash, Handelsbanken acquired a number of shareholdings and created Industrivarden in 1944 in order to distribute them between the bank’s shareholders. Since then, Industrivarden has continued to play a vital role in value-creating asset management of the top companies on the NASDAQ Stockholm exchange.
