Industrivarden was established by Handelsbanken, a major bank in Sweden. Following the 1930s stock market crash, Handelsbanken acquired a number of shareholdings and created Industrivarden in 1944 in order to distribute them between the bank’s shareholders. Since then, Industrivarden has continued to play a vital role in value-creating asset management of the top companies on the NASDAQ Stockholm exchange.
