Founded in 2014 by its CEO Ryan Williams, the company was started alongside venture capital company General Catalyst and Thrive Capital’s Josh Kushner – who is notably the brother of US President Donald Trump’s senior advisor, Jared Kushner.

Since being founded, Cadre has made significant changes in the way that investment works in the real estate market, with the financial press having described it as making “the real estate market more like the stock market”. Cadre allows investors to choose their individual transactions while making a smaller investment that would be needed to completely fund the transaction, thus broadening investment opportunities for potential real estate investors.
