What you need to know about the Student Investment Advisory Service.
It is managed by MSc Finance students that have been through a rigorous selection process. The fund currently manages over $17 million of the university’s endowment portfolio which is funded by contributions from HSBC Canada and the Lohn Foundation. The university is the client of the fund and sets out the investment mandate. The fund’s investments are broken down into four asset classes – cash, fixed income, global equity and Canadian equity – and economics, compliance and risk teams engage with the portfolio managers. The fund provides students with investing experience to take into their careers.
