Goldman Sachs is one of the world's most powerful investment banks, having founded in 1869. Head-quartered in New York City, it specialises in various financial services including global investment banking, investment management, securities, asset  management and mergers and acquisitions  advice.

Despite its large success, Goldman Sachs was badly affected by the 2007-2008 financial crisis, leading them to receive a $10 billion investment from the United States Department of the Treasury , which was made in November 2008 and repaid in June 2009. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the company joined the initial public offering  market in 1906 and was the lead underwriter for when Twitter joined in 2013. The company owns GS Bank USA  and unlike their rivals, never goes on TV to discuss their equity opinions.
