The Company is focused on providing access to quality education through campus-based and online post-secondary education offerings, as well as through programs to develop job-ready skills for high-demand markets. It operates through three segments: U.S. Higher Education (USHE) segment, Alternative Learning segment, and Australia/New Zealand segment. The USHE segment offers certificate and degree programs to working adults primarily through Strayer University and Capella University. The Alternative Learning segment is primarily focused on developing and maintaining relationships with large employers to build employee education benefits programs. Australia/New Zealand segment consists of Torrens University, which offers undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in five fields of study: business, design and creative technology, health, hospitality, and education.
BRIEF: For the fiscal year ended 31 December 2021, Strategic Education Inc revenues increased 10% to $1.13B. Net income decreased 36% to $55.1M. Revenues reflect Australia/New Zealand-Tuition, segment increase from $22.4M to $245.8M, Australia/New Zealand-other segment increase from $950K to $4.3M. Dividend per share remained flat at $2.40. Basic Earnings per Share excluding Extraordinary Items decreased from $3.81 to $2.30.
