Blue Bird Corporation is a designer and manufacturer of school buses. The Company operates through two segments. The Bus segment designs, engineers, manufactures and sells of school buses and extended warranties. It provides three types of buses: Type C school buses, Type D school buses and specialty buses. Each of its Type C and Type D buses is manufactured and assembled on its own dedicated purpose-built chassis in Fort Valley, Georgia. All school bus bodies, which it manufactures include its signature 14-gauge one-piece steel bows roof system, complemented by a rugged and sturdy floor structure. It also sells directly to fleet operators, the United States government, state governments and authorized dealers in a number of foreign countries. The Parts segment is included in the selling of replacement bus parts. Its 50 dealers have approximately 250 parts and service locations across the United States and Canada. Field service engineers provide technical support to its dealer network.
