ALFEN Company profile

Alfen N.V (ALFEN) is a Netherlands-based manufacturer engaged in the development and manufacture of electric grid equipment. It aims to create sustainable, smart and reliable energy systems.

Founded on 1 May 1937, the company focused on developing switching equipment before building its first concrete compact station in 1976.

Alfen became an international enterprise in 2007, with the launch of Alfen Belgium. The company  now sells products and services in more than 25 countries.

Alfen designs, engineers and manufactures smart grids such as solar panel parks and onshore wind turbines, charging stations for electric vehicles and energy storage units.

Over the years, the company has managed to reach a number of milestones, including the delivery of the 25,000th transformer station in 2014, the launch of a mobile energy storage system that can be deployed anywhere to generate clean energy in 2018 and the production of its 100,000th electric vehicle charging unit in 2020.

Alfen has aligned its approach to socially responsible entrepreneurship to the UN objectives related to sustainable development. It aims to potentially cut CO2 emissions through the use of electric vehicle charging stations and encourage more households to use solar panels as an energy source.

Alfen went public on 22 March 2018. The company’s shares are listed on Euronext Amsterdam.
