It is also part of the Mercado Integrado Latinoamericano (MILA), which integrates the stock exchange markets of Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru

The COLCAP is comprised of the top 20 most traded shares on the Colombian Stock Exchange – also known as the Bolsa de Valores. The companies listed on the COLCAP are reviewed consistently, with their market capitalization determining whether they will be included in the index. The Colombia Stock Exchange is a relatively new institution, especially when compared with the New York Stock Exchange. Although the idea to create the stock exchange formed at the start of the 20th century, it was not until the late 1920s that there were suitable conditions for it to form.
