In addition, it is involved in real estate development and operation activities; the ownership and operation of golf clubs; and property investment and office management, as well as wines trading activities. The company operates hotels under the Shangri-La, Kerry Hotel, Hotel Jen, Traders Hotel, Rasa, Summer Palace, Shang Palace, and CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La brand names. As of December 31, 2017, it had equity interests in 80 operating hotels with 36,056 rooms. The company was founded in 1971 and is headquartered in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong.
