Keller Group Company profile

Keller Group is a geotechnical specialist contractor based in the United Kingdom. Its shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol KLR.

The company provides solutions to solve a wide range of geotechnical challenges across the entire construction sector. It offers services, including ground improvement, deep foundations and earth retention.

The Keller Group began in the 1950s as the ground-engineering business of GKN Plc, a British industrial corporation headquartered in Redditch, Worcestershire. After purchasing Johann Keller, a German corporation founded in 1860 by Johan Keller, the company changed its name in 1975. In May 1994, the company went public on the London Stock Exchange.

The company has 21 business units across North America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa (AMEA), and Europe. Infrastructure/buildings is the top revenue contributor for Keller Group, accounting for 36% of its total revenue. Power/industrial accounts for 22% of the company’s revenue while residential and commercial/office each contributes 20%. About 2% of its revenue comes from marine projects.

It executes an average of 6,000 contracts per year with an average value of £350,000 per project.

Some of the projects that the company works on include ground improvement work to support the construction of Serang-Panimbang toll road in Indonesia’s Banten province in West Java; the design and construction of the foundation works for the AUD$180m ($128m, £95m) expansion of Cairns Convention Centre in Australia, the bridge reconstruction at Tampa International Airport in the US, and rock fissure grouting for a deep tunnel sewerage system in Singapore.

In July 2021, the company acquired RECON, a geotechnical and industrial services company based in Houston, Texas, US for $23m. RECON works mostly for industrial clients, particularly in the petrochemical sector.
