888 Holdings PLC (888) is more commonly known as 888.com. Based in Gibraltar, it is an online gambling company, owning several brands and websites. Major brand names of the company include: 888casino, 888poker 888sport, and Wink Bingo. The 888 holding share price is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is also a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
It was founded in 1997 by Avi and Aaron Shaked, and Shay and Ron Ben-Yitzhak as Virtual Holdings Limited and was first listed on the LSE in 2005. Until 2006, the company operated in the USA under Pacific Poker, but had to stop after online gambling was found illegal in the States.
