Balfour Beatty PLC (BBY) is an international infrastructure group based in the UK. The company designs, builds and maintains infrastructure across a number of sectors, including infrastructure investments, construction and support services. With a capital of £50,000, Balfour Beatty was founded by George Balfour and Andrew Beatty in 1909. Originally, the company focused on the construction of the tramways. Its operations majorly expanded during the First World War, as Balfour Beatty participated in the building processes of various army camps and other military-related constructions. Balfour Beatty was ranked as the biggest construction contractor in the United Kingdom by profit and turnover in September 2018.
