CHICAGO, Oct 26 (Reuters) - The US soybean harvest was 79% complete as of Sunday, in line with trade expectations, and the corn harvest was 60% finished, the US Department of Agriculture said in a weekly progress report on Monday, ahead of the average estimate in a Reuters poll of 10 analysts.
Farmers were harvesting the biggest US soybean crop in history and the second-largest corn crop
USDA's soybean harvest progress figure was ahead of the five-year average for this time of year of 77%, while corn harvest progress lagged the five-year average of 66%.
The USDA rated 56% of the US corn crop in good-to-excellent condition, unchanged from last week and matching the average analyst estimate.
Farmers continue to plant winter wheat for harvest in 2027. The USDA said winter wheat seeding was 76% complete, up from 63% last week and ahead of an average of analyst estimates for 75%, but behind the five-year average of 77%.
The USDA expected to release its first condition ratings for the winter wheat crop in next week's report.
