IRS chief Bisignano donates $250 to Trump accounts for eligible children in Brooklyn ZIP code
WASHINGTON, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Trump administration official Frank Bisignano, who serves as Internal Revenue Service CEO and as Social Security commissioner, said on Thursday he will donate $250 to each "Trump account" in his home ZIP code in the Brooklyn borough of New York City for children aged 2 to 8 years.
In a statement issued by the IRS, Bisignano, the former CEO of payments and financial technology firm Fiserv FISV.O, said the payments would be available immediately for eligible children in ZIP code 11234.
The $250 donation adds to a $1,000 US Treasury contribution to accounts of children born from 2025 through 2028. The tax-deferred investment accounts were created by last year's Republican-passed tax cuts.
"This donation is an investment in the children of Brooklyn, giving them a boost in their personal wealth building journeys," Bisignano said in the statement.
