By Modular Finance

Satisfaction among residents at Attendo nursing homes in Sweden has increased by seven percentage points to 84%, the highest level ever recorded in Attendo's Swedish operations. The results also show that residents at Attendo nursing homes are more satisfied with their care than those at publicly operated nursing homes in both Sweden and Finland. This is based on a compilation of the results from the 2026 national resident satisfaction surveys conducted by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) in Sweden and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) in Finland. In Finland, residents at Attendo nursing homes also report high levels of satisfaction, with several homes ranking among the highest-rated in the country.

In Sweden, 84 percent of residents at Attendo's nursing homes are satisfied with their care, compared with 81 percent at publicly operated nursing homes in the municipalities where Attendo operates. This is Attendo's highest result to date, with improvements recorded across all regions.

The survey results in Finland are also positive. Attendo's nursing homes achieved a recommendation index of 40, compared with 31 for public providers. A total of 14 Attendo nursing homes rank among the highest-rated in their respective regions, with one nursing home ranking among the top three nationwide.

"I am proud of this year's results, which demonstrate that our systematic and long-term efforts to improve the quality of care are making a difference and that we are moving in the right direction. The fact that our nursing homes receive high ratings in both Sweden and Finland reflects the dedication of our fantastic employees, improved ways of working supported by technology, and the trust placed in us by the society," says Virpi Holmqvist, President and CEO of Attendo.

About the 2026 national care recipient surveys

The national care recipient surveys are conducted by the National Board of Health and Welfare in Sweden and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL). The results refer to the 2026 surveys. In Sweden, satisfaction is measured as the percentage of residents who are satisfied with their care. The comparison with public providers covers municipalities where Attendo operates nursing homes. In Finland, a recommendation index is used. The results are therefore not directly comparable between the two countries. Further information is available on the respective authorities' websites.
