Sdeira Group, part of AD Ports Group, has unveiled the masterplan for a workers' accommodation development at KEZAD Al Mamourah in Abu Dhabi, with capacity for up to 27,000 residents.

Construction of the two-phase Aryam Community – KEZAD Al Mamourah project is expected to begin in the first half of 2027, with completion scheduled for 2029, the company said in a statement.

The development, located within KEZAD Al Mamourah A near Khalifa Port and the Abu Dhabi–Dubai transport corridor, will provide accommodation and supporting facilities for workers employed across the industrial, logistics and commercial sectors.

The first phase will accommodate approximately 14,000 residents on a 110,200-square-metre (sqm) site, with a built-up area of 137,800 sqm.

The second phase will increase the community's total capacity to 27,000 residents.

The masterplan includes a supermarket, administrative facilities and a mixed-use building housing a medical clinic, retail outlets and other amenities.

It also provides for a central kitchen operated by Sdeira Group's catering subsidiary ZOAD, two dining halls and an on-site laundry facility operated by Your Laundry.

Recreational facilities will include four outdoor sports courts and dedicated indoor leisure spaces.

The development will incorporate smart metering, energy-efficiency measures and water-conservation systems.

Abdulaziz A. Bawazeer, CEO of Sdeira Group, said the company was seeing strong interest from employers seeking accommodation for their workforce at the development.

"As Abu Dhabi's industrial economy expands, the communities supporting the people behind that growth will play an increasingly important role in business performance and industrial competitiveness," he said.

No development cost or financing details were disclosed. The site and construction timeline details for the second phase were not specified.

The project was initially announced at Make it in the Emirates 2026, while its masterplan and architectural designs were subsequently showcased at KEZAD Connect.

The development supports Abu Dhabi's industrial expansion strategy, which targets growth of the emirate's manufacturing sector to AED 172 billion by 2031.
