UK Stocks-Factors to watch on October 5

By Reuters News

- Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening up on Monday, with futures up 0.3%.

* ITHACA ENERGY: Suncor Energy SU.TO said on Sunday it had agreed to sell its interests in three offshore oil assets to Ithaca Energy ITH.L for C$1.2 billion ($840.2 million) in upfront cash.

* TARIFFS: Britain is considering imposing tariffs on Chinese electric vehicle imports amid concerns that Beijing is flooding the market with state-subsidised cars, the Times newspaper reported on Sunday.

* OIL: Oil prices edged lower as increased Middle East crude exports and a G7 oil stock release boosted supplies.

* GOLD: Gold prices eased as the US dollar firmed, though losses were limited after recent soft economic data sharply reduced expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike in October.

* METALS: Copper nudged up, supported by an improving demand outlook after cooling interest rate expectations outweighed pressure from a strong dollar.

* The UK blue-chip index .FTSE closed up 0.32% but saw its steepest weekly drop since April on Friday, hurt by a sell-off in government bonds that pushed yields higher and dented risk appetite.
