Milei discusses Argentina LNG project with Eni CEO, company says
October 2 (Reuters) - Argentina's President Javier Milei discussed the Argentina LNG project with Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi on Friday, the Italian energy group said.
Eni develops the project in the country's Vaca Muerta basin together with Argentina's state oil firm YPF YPFDm.BA and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's international investments arm XRG.
Descalzi and Milei met on the sidelines of Argentina Week in Paris and discussed prospects for cooperation and investment opportunities in Argentina
The Argentina LNG project is expected to reach liquefied natural gas production capacity of 12 million tonnes per year
The start of production is planned by 2030
The huge Vaca Muerta formation accounts for most of the country's oil production even though a small part of it is under development. It is vital to Argentina's economic future.
