** CEO Ryan Cohen bought $17 million worth GME stock on Friday, according to a SEC filing

** Cohen's direct holdings now stand at ~41.65 million, representing slightly over 8% stake in GME

** He had bought about $57 million worth of GME stock in September, according to data compiled by LSEG

** Buybacks and insider buying are the strongest signals companies can send to the market, analysts have said

** In August, GameStop made a non-binding $55.5 billion ($125/share) bid to acquire eBay, but eBay's EBAY.O board rejected the offer

** As of last close, GME stock up 23% YTD
