Evommune gains after eczema drug meets mid-stage trial goal

** Shares of drug developer Evommune EVMN.N rise 4.9% to $8.67 premarket

** Co says its experimental injectable drug EVO301 met the main goal of a mid-stage trial involving 70 adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, commonly known as eczema

** Says patients treated with EVO301 had a 55% average reduction in the severity and extent of eczema after 12 weeks, compared with 22% for those given placebo

** About 29% of EVO301 patients achieved at least a 75% improvement in eczema severity versus 9% on placebo

** Drug was given twice during the trial, at the start and after four weeks; effects continued to improve for eight weeks after the final dose

** Treatment-related side effects were reported in 10.4% of EVO301 patients versus 13.6% on placebo; no treatment-related serious or severe side effects were reported

** As of last close, EVMN down 51.8% YTD
