Security National Financial Corporation is a holding company. The Company operates through three business segments: life insurance, cemetery and mortuary, and mortgages. The life insurance segment consists business of selling and servicing selected lines of life insurance, annuity products, and accident and health insurance. The cemetery and mortuary segment consist of approximately eight mortuaries and five cemeteries in the state of Utah and one cemetery in the state of California. It also engages in pre-need selling of funeral, cemetery, mortuary, and cremation services through its Utah and California operations. The mortgage segment originates and underwrites or purchases residential and commercial loans for new construction, existing homes, and other real estate projects. The mortgage segment operates through approximately 98 retail offices in 23 states.
BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2021, Security National Financial Corp revenues increased 7% to $367.8M. Net income decreased 33% to $34.2M. Revenues reflect Life Insurance segment increase of 10% to $121.6M, Cemetery/Mortuary segment increase of 38% to $20.5M. Net income was offset by Personnel increase of 21% to $73.8M (expense), Commissions increase of 12% to $91.4M (expense).
