Established by Peter Kelly in 1993, it runs offices in London, Dublin, Manchester, Southampton, Bristol, Marlow, Leeds, and Glasgow. The company advises, designs, implements, and manages technology for public and business sector organisations. Its product portfolio includes e-procurement, unified communications, commodity sourcing, software licensing, and workplace technology. Softcat also offers end user computing and mobility, asset management, business intelligence and analytics, and data protection solutions. In 2018, it launched a very popular podcast called Explain IT. The Softcat share price is listed on the London Stock Exchange and included in the FTSE 250 Index
