Peloton Interactive (PTON) is a global interactive fitness platform.Founded in 2012 and headquartered in New York, the platform came together as an attempt to bring the community and excitement of boutique fitness into your own home. 

The company uses technology and design to connect the world through fitness, empowering people to become the best version of themselves. It makes its own hardware, develops its own software and creates its own sports content in partnership with world class fitness instructors. 

Peloton Interactive offers a line of fitness products that are equipped with a touchscreen tablet that streams live and on-demand gym classes including the Peloton Bike and the Peloton Bike + as well as the Peloton Tread. 

The platform also provides its users with subscription-based services, an app and numerous sports accessories including dumbbells, apparel and heart rate bands. 

In 2018, Peloton went global and started shipping its indoor cycling bikes to the UK and Canada. The product soon became available in Germany too. 

The platform has partnered with popular music streaming platform Spotify (SPOT),  Beyoncé, Delta Air Lines (DAL) and launched the Peloton Corporate Wellness programme in summer 2021 that strived to bring Peloton content and products to a number of businesses and organisation in the US, UK, Canada, Germany and Australia. 

In 2020, the platform launched Peloton Pledge, an action plan aiming to combat systemic inequities. 

The company went public on NASDAQ in September 2019 under the ticker symbol PTON with an initial public offering (IPO) valued at $29.00 per share.
