Japanese brokerage Monex to offer wealth management services

Japanese brokerage Monex Group, the parent company of Coincheck cryptocurrency exchange, will open its doors for high net-worth clients by launching a private wealth department, shifting up the gear following growing customer base of its financial advisory.
Beyond its home market, Monex has online brokerages for retail investors in China, Hong Kong, Australia, and US, where it operates under the TradeStation brand. It also offers services in international foreign exchange, asset management, and merger and acquisition advisory.
Monex has been offering in-person consultation to its customers through independent financial advisors and assets under management has been steadily growing, creating a base for the launch of a private wealth division, it said in a statement.
Targeting high net-worth individuals
“The enhanced in-person marketing is especially designed for high net worth individuals, while the goal of the services is to focus on protecting the value of their assets,” it added.
Monex said that wealth management services in Japan is often offered by foreign financial institutions with history of restructuring and reorganisation, creating the need for “stable and robust services in this area.”
