- Swiss engineering company Sulzer on Tuesday said it had signed a five-year alliance with Venezuela's state-owned oil company PDVSA to develop key industrial infrastructure in the country and contribute to economic growth.

  • The new agreement is set up in accordance with regulatory requirements and provides a basis for collaboration as Venezuela enters a new phase of investment and development in its oil and gas sector, Sulzer said

  • Sulzer technologies are already installed across PDVSA's upstream, pipeline, refining and fuel distribution operations, according to the statement

  • The long-term strategic alliance sets the framework for potential future orders coming from across all PDVSA's operations, Sulzer added

  • "Our longstanding presence in the country has given us deep knowledge of its industrial landscape and operational needs," Sulzer executive chair Suzanne Thoma said
