Nexans Q3 sales rise on grid, data-centre demand; confirms outlook

By Reuters News

- French energy infrastructure company Nexans NEXS.PA reported a 21.4% rise in third-quarter sales on Thursday, boosted by strong demand for electrical infrastructure serving power grids and AI-driven data centres.

Sales rose to €1.70 billion ($1.91 billion) in the July-September period, with the company's electrification businesses accounting for €1.49 billion of revenue.

Once primarily a cable manufacturer, Nexans has repositioned itself around electrification, spanning high-voltage transmission networks, power distribution grids and building connections.

Its Connect business, which links electricity networks to end users, grew 36% to €749.8 million, helped by demand from U.S. hyperscale data centres and the recent acquisition of Republic Wire.

Nexans is seeking to benefit from the boom in AI-driven data center construction, supplying power cables and electrical infrastructure used in hyperscale facilities.

"M&A remains a key pillar of our strategy and we nurture a rich pipeline of opportunities worldwide," CEO Julien Hueber said in a statement.

Nexans confirmed its 2026 guidance.
