YIELDS RISE, BUT GROWTH LEADERSHIP HOLDS FIRM

Wall Street's major indexes are mixed and relatively quiet early Monday as investors digest another rise in Treasury yields and keep an eye on the outlook for Fed policy.

The benchmark US 10-year Treasury yield is hovering around 5.30%. If it finishes the week higher, it will mark a sixth consecutive weekly advance. The last time the 10-year yield posted a longer streak was a seven-week climb that ended in early November 2024.

Oil prices, meanwhile, are easing. US crude futures are down around 1.5%, slipping back below the $90-a-barrel mark.

Under the hood, most S&P 500 sectors are higher, though moves are modest. Communication services .SPLRCL, up about 0.7%, is the leading gainer. Just industrials .SPLRCI, staples .SPLRCS, and real estate .SPLRCR are slipping.

Several economically sensitive areas of the market are also under pressure, including regional banks .KRX, transports .DJT and housing-related stocks .HGX. Gold and silver miners .XAU are trading lower as well. On the flip side, software and services stocks .SPLRCIS are standing out, rising more than 1% and ranking among the market's best performers early in the session.

Despite the modest moves across much of the market, leadership remains concentrated in growth and technology. The Nasdaq Composite .IXIC, Nasdaq 100 .NDX, S&P 500 technology sector .SPLRCT and S&P 500 Growth Index .IGX are all on track for record closing highs.

The Magnificent Seven ETF is also pacing toward a new closing record, helped by Nvidia NVDA.O, which is itself on track to notch another all-time closing high.

Here is a snapshot of where markets stood around 10:14 a.m. ET.
