** Hong Kong shares of Yancoal Australia climb 3.9% to HK$32.84, on course for the biggest one-day pct gain since September 7

** Stock touches the highest level since September 18 in the third straight rising session

** Australia-listed shares YAL.AX rose 4.7% on Wednesday

** Yancoal said on Wednesday the NSW Independent Planning Commission has approved the Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) Continuation Project, which will extend the continuation of mining at the HVO mining complex until the end of 2045

** Chairman Gang RU said support was also voiced by local and State Government representatives and was a significant development for the region's economy, about 1,570 mine workers and their families

** "While this state-level approval brings HVO one step closer to securing long-term certainty for the mine, HVO also requires Federal Government environmental approval by 31 December 2026," Ru added

** YTD, Hong Kong stock up 27.2%, Australia-listed shares up 21.4%, while Hang Seng Index .HSI down 4.1%
