JSW slides as H1 results disappoint and profitability recovery lags

** Shares of Polish miner Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa JSW.WA fall around 6% after it reported worse-than-expected preliminary half-year results

** The company reported a preliminary half-year net loss of 1.04 billion zlotys ($271 million) and an EBITDA loss of 236.5 million zlotys on Wednesday

** "The improvement in results is slower than we assumed," Erste analyst Jakub Szkopek says

** "We thought higher coking coal prices and cost savings would be reflected in the results more quickly, but that process is taking longer," he adds

** The drop puts the company’s stock on track for its worst day since April
