DBV rises as FDA filing marks key milestone for kids' peanut patch

By Reuters News

** DBV Technologies DBV.PA shares rise 3.4% after the French biotech submitted a biologics license application (BLA) to the FDA for its Viaskin Peanut patch for children aged four to seven

** The submission marks an "important milestone" for DBV, Portzamparc says, following an earlier unsuccessful application for the 4–11 age group in 2020

** The broker says the clinical data are stronger this time; the latest study met its statistical significance criterion, unlike the first attempt

** DBV has also redesigned the patch to make it less likely to fall off accidentally, which should help reassure regulators, Portzamparc says

** The treatment for peanut allergy has received breakthrough therapy designation, and DBV has now requested priority review

** If the FDA approves the patch, Portzamparc says DBV could begin generating revenue in the US from children aged 4 to 7 in 2027

** Up to the previous session's close, shares were down 40.3% year-to-date
