CGC Welcomes Toyota as National Mobility Partner
OTTAWA, Ontario, Sept. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Canada Games Council (CGC) welcomes Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) as the National Mobility Partner of the Canada Games through 2031. TCI’s commitment extends through the Quebec City 2027 Canada Winter Games, the Moncton - Saint John 2029 Canada Summer Games and the 2031 Canada Winter Games.
The Canada Games bring together able-bodied athletes and athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities for the largest amateur multi-sport event in the country. Alternating between winter and summer, the Canada Games span more than 30 different sports to showcase the best in Canadian sport and spirit.
Toyota Canada is providing a fleet of more than 50 vehicles to support both operational and Games-time fleet transportation needs. With a focus on zero-emission vehicles, this partnership will play a central role in the delivery of sustainable event operations, aligning with the Games' objective of reducing its environmental impact.
TCI is familiar with the positive impact of the Canada Games, having been the Electrified Fleet Partner at the St. John’s 2025 Games.
“After their sponsorship of the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s, this is a phenomenal opportunity for the Canada Games to continue to work with Toyota Canada,” said Kelly-Ann Paul, CGC President & CEO. “We’re thrilled to welcome a new, long-term partner that will support the CGC to achieve its collective sustainability goals, through provision of electric fleet for the Games.”
The impact of this multi-Games partnership will be felt first in Quebec City, when they host the 2027 Canada Winter Games from February 27 - March 14.
“Along with our dealers across Canada, Toyota Canada is proud to support the Canada Games and their sustainability goals,” said Steve Pilkey, Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Toyota Canada. “We know our Toyota dealers will be cheering on their local athletes, coaches and families participating in the Games in a demonstration of community connection and regional pride.”
The Canada Games spark greatness in the next generation of athletes and leaders and create enduring legacies that transform communities from coast to coast to coast. The Games are a key milestone in the development of Canada’s future national, international, Olympic, Paralympic and Special Olympics champions.
Each edition of the Canada Games features two weeks of competition, between 16 - 20 sports, up to 4,600 summer and up to 3,500 winter participants (athletes, coaches and managers), and over 5,000 volunteers.
