Cboe climbs after extending S&P 500 options licensing deal through 2051

By Reuters News

** Shares of exchange operator CBOE.Z rise 6.7% to $270.15

** CBOE signs a 25-year extension of its exclusive licensing agreement with S&P Dow Jones Indices, allowing it to continue exclusively offering trading in S&P 500 Index options through 2051

** Cboe and S&P Dow Jones Indices may also collaborate beyond traditional index derivatives and include new products such as tokenized options contracts

** "CBOE's exclusive licensing agreement with S&P Global Indices, previously set to expire in 2032, had been an overhang on the stock. The 25-year extension of that agreement is therefore a significant positive catalyst," analyst Ashish Sabadra of RBC Capital Markets says in a note

** As of last close, stock up 0.9% YTD
