CAE to sell airline operations software business Flightscape to SITA in $500 million deal

By Reuters News

- Canada's CAE CAE.TO on Monday said it will sell Flightscape, its airline operations software business, to fellow global aviation technology firm SITA in a deal valued at $500 million, including debt.

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027.

  • Flightscape helps airlines plan flights, manage crews and coordinate ground and in-flight services

  • The Flightscape deal comes five months after CAE first said it would pursue a strategic review for that business

  • CAE has stepped up efforts to lower costs and improve cash flow under CEO Matthew Bromberg, including an April job cut that impacted 280 workers

  • The deal allows CAE to reshape its business around its core civil and defense operations

  • CAE said it will put the proceeds from the Flightscape sale toward its core simulation and training businesses
