Australian shares set to inch lower at open, NZ down slightly
Oct 23 (Reuters) - Australian shares were set to edge lower on Friday, as softer commodity prices threatened to drag miners down and offset gains in energy stocks from stronger oil prices, with Gulf tensions weighing on risk appetite.
The local share price index futures fell 0.2%, a 5.2-point discount to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO close. The benchmark fell 0.4% on Thursday.
New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index .NZ50 fell 0.1% in early trade.
