ADNOC Gas has signed an agreement with Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE), the federal utility provider, to explore future natural gas supply for new power generation capacity across the Northern Emirates.

The collaboration opens a new domestic market for ADNOC Gas’ growing gas volumes while providing a reliable fuel source for additional UAE power generation capacity, the Abu Dhabi-listed ADNOC subsidiary said in a statement.

CEO Yousif Ahmed Al Ali said EtihadWE is developing a balanced portfolio of gas-fired and renewable energy generation to support the Northern Emirates’ long-term growth and evolving energy needs.

ADNOC Gas is working on one of the world’s largest integrated gas growth programmes. This includes Rich Gas Development, which will expand gas processing capacity and increase natural gas availability for domestic customers.

This week, the state-owned ADNOC made a final investment decision (FID) for the Ruwais Diyab unconventional gas development in Abu Dhabi, which will boost the UAE’s economic and industrial growth.
