HICL Infrastructure Company (HICL), formerly known as HSBC Infrastructure Company Ltd, is one of the largest British infrastructure investment firms with over 100 portfolio companies. Its activities are focused on the UK, Europe, Australasia, and North America markets. Established in 2006, the business targets three key sectors: regulated assets, including water utilities, electricity and gas transmission and distribution; demand-based assets, including student accommodations and toll road concessions; and Private finance initiative and PPP, including various social projects. HICL Infrastructure is managed by InfraRed Capital Partners. The HICL share price is listed on the London Stock Exchange and included in the FTSE 250 Index. The company’s current chairman is Ian Russell.
