JetBlue Airways Corporation (JBLU) is an American air carrier, known for its low-cost services. The airline is headquartered in New York’s Long Island City in the US. The company belongs to the consumer discretionary sector and is a part of the air freight and delivery services industry.
The airline was established in February 2000 at the John F. Kennedy International Airport. The company’s stock trades on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol JBLU. The stock went public on 12 April, 2002. During the initial public offering (IPO), the company offered 5.9 million shares of its common stock at $27 per share.
In 2022, JetBlue had 23,000 crewmembers and conducted more than 900 flights on a daily basis. With focus cities in New York, Boston, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Los Angeles, Orlando and San Juan, JetBlue offers flights to more than 25 countries. According to the company, it is carbon-neutral on all domestic flights and ranks sixth among the largest US airlines.
The airline has partnerships with American Airlines (AAL), Irish airline Aer Lingus, Massachusetts-based Cape Air, Dubai-headquartered Emirates, Hawaiian Airlines, Reykjavík, Iceland-based Icelandair, Texas-based air carrier JSX, Toronto-based Porter Airlines, Doha, Qatar-based Qatar Airways, San Juan, Puerto Rico-based Seaborne Airlines, Florida-based Silver Airways, and Kempton Park, South Africa-headquartered South African Airways.
As of July 2022, JetBlue Airways Corporation does not currently pay a dividend to its shareholders.
