Cryptocurrency electroneum surged by around 100% over the weekend after it agreed a deal with mobile and payments technology provider XIUS.
Electroneum, which markets itself as a mobile-friendly crypto was trading at $0.1771 as at 10.00 GMT this morning compared with the last quoted price of $0.0911 on Friday.
Former football manager Harry Redknapp is among those who have talked up the prospects for UK-based electroneum. More recently, it has received praise from computer programmer and crypto commentator John McAfee.
At one point on Sunday the crypto was trading as high as $0.2094.

XIUS, the telecoms operating brand of Megasoft, has an active subscriber base of over 65 million people.
