CapitaLand Mall Trust (C38U) is a well-known Singapore-based REIT (real estate investment trust). Known as CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust, it is the first and largest REIT on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd (SGX-ST). It had a market capitalisation of about S$14 billion as of December 31, 2020.
In July 2002, it debuted as CapitaLand Mall Trust on SGX-ST. However, it was renamed CICT after the merger with CapitaLand Commercial Trust in October 2020. CapitaMall Trust is in charge of 15 of the group’s notable shopping malls in Singapore and has a market capitalisation of more than $6 billion.
It is worth noting that CapitaMall Trust is featured on the MSCI Singapore Index, SGX Real Estate Index, the FTSE REIT Index, and GPR REIT Singapore Index, among others.
The Trust has ownership of and invests in various income-producing assets. These assets are used for retail purposes, mainly in Singapore. The company’s portfolio comprises approximately 3,100 leases with international and local retailers and has a high occupancy of about 97.6 per cent. The Trust owns approximately 20 shopping malls, which are mainly located in the downtown core and suburban areas of Singapore.
CapitaLand Mall Trust’s shopping malls are located strategically near major transport networks in the country and population catchments. It makes it highly convenient for shoppers, for instance, to get their stuff conveniently from the REIT’s shopping malls after exiting from any MRT station before they head back home.

Between 2017 and mid-2019, the CapitaLand Mall share price increased steadily and reached a high of S$2.98 in July 2019. CapitaLand Mall share price mostly remained above $2.50 until experiencing a dramatic fall because of Covid-19, plummeting to $1.52 in April 2020. As of March 2021, the C38U stock price rebounded to S$2.18.
