BlackRock Smaller Companies Trust PLC (BRSC) is a large British investment trust. It primarily invests in smaller UK-quoted companies. It is managed by the world-renowned US-based investment management corporation BlackRock Inc., the largest asset manager around the globe. As of December 2018, it owned $5.98 trillion in assets under its control. The main goal of the BlackRock Smaller Companies Trust is to provide shareholders with long-term capital growth in excess of the growth in the FTSE SmallCap Index.
