Aggreko PLC is a world leading provider of mobile power solutions, including temporary power generation equipment and temperature control systems. Today, the UK-based group manages more than 200 operating sites across over 100 countries.

The company divides its operation into two core segments: Rental Solutions and Power Solutions. The former offers high-tech heating, cooling, oil-free air and load bank services. The latter is further comprised of the industrial business that oversees the oil & gas, petrochemical & refining and mining markets and the utility business that operates as a power provider.

Founded in 1962 by Luc Koopmans in the Netherlands, Aggreko moved to the UK in 1973 where it quickly expanded its business to meet the growing demand for the company’s generators. Today Aggreko is headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, and has a team of more than 6,000 permanent and temporary employees. The company has offices in Western Europe, Canada, Australia and the United States and a smaller number of locations in Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.

In December 2006, Aggreko acquired all the activities of General Electric Energy Rentals for $212 millions. The company managed to become the sole supplier of temporary power and temperature controls at the Beijing Olympic Games 2008, and the sole provider of temporary power at the London Olympic Games 2012. In 2012, Aggreko bought 100% of the operations of Poit Energia, a power generation equipment provider in Latin America. In 2017, the company acquired a battery storage company Younicos.

Aggreko’s share price was first listed and traded on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in February 1997 under the ticker symbol AGK. Today Aggreko’s share price is a component of the FTSE 250 stock market index. Capital.com enables you to follow and stay in sync with current AGK share price data in real time.
