Marathon Digital holdings is a digital asset technology company that mines cryptocurrency and focuses on the blockchain ecosystem and digital asset development. 

Formerly known as Marathon Patent Group, the company changed its name to Marathon Digital Holdings, Inc in February 2021.

The company operates its data centre in Hardin, Montana, with a maximum power capacity of 105 megawatts. The facility is part of Marathon's agreement with Beowulf Energy to co-locate the bitcoin mining data centre at the Big Horn Data Hub adjacent to Beowulf's Hardin Generating Station in Hardin.

Beowulf provides electricity to the data centre from the Hardin plant. The data centre can deploy up to 30,000 S19 Pro Miners, generating 3.320 EH/s.

The company, which was founded in 2010, also owns 2,060 advanced ASIC bitcoin miners at a co-hosted facility in North Dakota. Marathon Digital plans to deploy 133,000 miners, expected to generate approximately 13.3 Exahash by mid-2022.

Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, the company became a publicly-traded company on 9 March 2011. The shares are traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol MARA.
