A bit of Schlumberger’s history

Founded in 1926 in France, Schlumberger was known as the Electric Prospecting Company. In 1927, it made the very first electrical resistivity well log in Merkwiller-Pechelbronn, France. Quickly expanding, the company soon logged its first well in the United States.

>In 1935 the company launched its business in Houston as the Schlumberger Well Surveying Corporation. Later it was rebranded and got the name Schlumberger Well Services, and finally Schlumberger Wireline & Testing.

In 1948, heavily investing in research, the company started the Schlumberger-Doll Research Center in Ridgefield, Connecticut, that greatly contributed to the development of a number of new logging tools. Schlumberger Limited was established in 1956 as a holding company that united all the Schlumberger’s businesses.

Who founded Schlumberger?

The first global well logging company was founded by the brothers Conrad and Marcel Schlumberger. Conrad was a physicist, graduating from École Polytechnique in 1900, Marcel became an engineer, graduating from École Centrale Paris in 1907.

In 2010, Conrad Schlumberger started teaching at the École des Mines, where he launched tests on what is now known as wireline logging. In 2012, he managed to record the very first map of equipotential curves. The mapping confirmed the capability of this method to detect metal ores and reveal features of the subsurface structure.

In 1919, Marcel started working with Conrad as his partner and over the next decades the company proved its commercial potential.

Capital.com is one of the best stock trading platforms I’ve used. The UX and UI on both the mobile app and web platform are outstanding, making it incredibly easy to navigate. They’ve built a vibrant community of traders and investors, and their UAE team really stands out for delivering an exceptional trading experience.

Great app! I requested some features to be added, such as analysis tools, and they delivered. Amazing job! The agents are always helpful and reply quickly. It’s not 5 stars because, at times, some less experienced agents may say it’s impossible to fulfill the request or fix the problem while another agent, like Angel, quickly escalated the issue to the necessary team/person/department and resolved it

This is an excellent platform. The stop loss and take profit work very well; however, when the changes are very fast like at the beginning of the session, the stop loss does not work. If this defect is corrected it will be the perfect platform.

Efficiency. When creating the account, it was smooth, efficient from start to finish. Verification of documents also was done the same day, unlike other platforms where you have to wait a day or two.
