Who are the key people at Bank of New York Mellon?

Charles W. Scharf is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BNY Mellon. Before joining the company in 2017, he served as CEO of Visa Inc. What is the modern history of Bank of New York Mellon?

BNY Mellon traces its history all the way back to 1784, when Alexander Hamilton founded the Bank of New York. There was a long series of mergers in the 20thcentury, with the bank making 33 acquisitions in the five-year period from 1993 to 1998 alone. In 2006, Bank of New York exited retail banking and announced that it would merge with Mellon Financial Corporation. The deal was valued at $16.5 billion, and the merger was finalised in July 2007.

Since the merger, BNY Mellon has made further acquisitions. These include Insight Investment in 2009; Global Investment Servicing Inc. in 2010; and Talon Asset Management's wealth management business in 2011. BNY Mellon announced in 2015 that it would pay $180 million to settle a forex-related putative class action lawsuit. The move came after federal and state authorities accused BNY Mellon of malpractice.

What are the latest developments at Bank of New York Mellon?

BNY Mellon reported full year 2017 earnings of $3.9 billion, or $3.72 per common share – an increase of 18%. Total revenue was up 2%, and total expense was up 4%.

At his debut investor day in March 2018, CEO Charles Scharf said BNY Mellon could drive revenue growth through its investment management business – and especially through its wealth arm. And even after years of cost-cutting, there was still some “juice” left as the company sought further efficiencies, he said.

JEYAKUMAR

great app, love the weekly and monthly insights, and review they send about my trading habits. spread for gold is usually 0.3 but at times fluctuates up to 0.9 this often makes it hard trading on the low time frames and not losing my position to spread even if my bias was correct, if the spread was better I'd give 5 star.

chris hoeben

Capital.com is the best broker of all time and I Should give it five stars but there is a small issue about execution of my orders through traddingview it is a bit slow. But the execution of orders directly from the capital.com App or Website is absolutely fast and apart from that everything is simple incredible.
