About Forward Air Corporation
Forward Air Corporation is an asset-light freight and logistics company. The Company provides less-than-truckload (LTL), final mile, truckload and intermodal drayage services across the United States and in Canada. The Company operates through two segments: Expedited Freight and Intermodal. The Expedited Freight segment operates a comprehensive national network to provide expedited regional, inter-regional and national LTL services. Expedited Freight offers customers local pick-up and delivery and other services including final-mile, truckload, shipment consolidation and deconsolidation, warehousing, customs brokerage and other handling. The Intermodal segment provides first- and last-mile high value intermodal container drayage services both to and from seaports and railheads. Intermodal also offers dedicated contract and Container Freight Station (CFS) warehouse and handling services.

BRIEF: For the fiscal year ended 31 December 2021, Forward Air Corporation revenues increased 31% to $1.66B. Net income applicable to common stockholders excluding extraordinary items increased from $52.4M to $115.4M. Revenues reflect Expedited Freight segment increase of 28% to $1.37B, Intermodal segment increase of 45% to $289.2M. Net income benefited from Expedited Freight segment income increase of 95% to $139.3M.
