Greencore Group PLC (GNC) is a food and related products manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. The company reported it produces over 706 million convenience foods-to-go every year. As a matter of fact, the company is the world’s largest maker of sandwiches: it has around 36% of market share in the UK producing 350 million sandwiches a year. The Greencore share price is listed on the London Stock Exchange and included in the FTSE 250 Index.
The company’s history started in 1926 when it was founded as a private enterprise called Irish Sugar Manufacturing Company. Over the years, Greencore has changed not only its name but also its business direction, quickly expanding into one of today’s convenience food market leaders. As of 2018, the company made a total annual revenue of almost £1,5 billion and employed more than 15,800 people.
