Carvana Co. Company profile
Carvana Co. (CVNA) is an e-commerce platform to buy and sell used cars. Founded in 2012, the company is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona with 33 vending machines operating across the US. Carvana sources cars and all other types of vehicles from auctions, trade-ins, partners, dealerships and customers who directly sell to the company.
All car types are inspected and reconditioned at the 17 existing Inspection and Reconditioning Centers to ensure consistent quality across 14 states.
Carvana sends all purchased vehicles into their Partner’s Inventory, where they go through a 150-point inspection – the list of 150 parameters to verify that the vehicles meet the Carvana standards – along with a free Carfax report to check the vehicles’ history.
On the selling side, Carvana's platform enables customers to do research and identify a vehicle of choice. Users can inspect vehicles using the company’s 360-degree vehicle imaging technology.
The platform runs on a desktop or mobile device. Users can apply for warranty coverage and facilitate the purchase, schedule delivery or pick-up from the base location.
Carvana stock got listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in 2017 and began trading under the ticker symbol CVNA.
